Today on Tales: We'll be talking about the much-missed Neal Casal - brilliant guitarist/singer/songwriter and subject of a great new box set called "Highway Butterfly: The Songs of Neal Casal," which features a stellar cast of Neal's musical and personal friends paying tribute. One of those longtime friends, Dave Schools, who co-produced the project, will join us. We'll also catch up with Anthony Coscia about the latest developments in his ongoing project to recreate the Grateful Dead's mighty Wall of Sound in an incrementally increasing series of scale models, with the ultimate goal being to build it at full size. As ever, you can help create the show, by calling 888-897-4748. 📷 © Jay Blakesberg

(Pardon the redundancy if you're already following me elsewhere!)

Hey folks! I'm going to be launching my Kickstarter NEXT WEEK, actual date to be determined, as I have to tie up a few loose ends first.

Please help me kick this Kickstarter into gear on Day One, by signing up for Notification on Launch from Kickstarter!

You'll have first access to Pledge Rewards that have limitations on the number available, such as signed photos added to the book pre-order, and others.

And you'll be helping me: your early contribution will send a positive signal out into the world, that this one-of-a-kind book is worth supporting and encouraging!

Please help me spread the word by signing up and also by sharing this notice far and wide! Thank you.

TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION FROM KICKSTARTER when I launch:

- Click on the link way down below, which will show you my Preview page.
- Click on "Notify me on launch" box in the lower left.
- Kickstarter will ask you to either sign in to, or create a new, Kickstarter account, which you will need when you donate anyway.
- When I launch next week, you'll get a notification from Kickstarter!

NOTE: This First Printing will ONLY be available through this Kickstarter during its 30+ days. (Exceptions are for any left after fulfillment of all pre-orders, which I'll sell direct from me.)

Additional copies will await a second printing, which is TBD.

The book by itself will be available x1 (unsigned), or x1, x2, x3 (signed) as distinct Pledge Level Rewards, and KS only allows you one Pledge Level choice per KS account/email address.

A successful Kickstarter will ensure a minimum print run of 1,000 copies, AND from there, the print run will expand to meet the demand of the Kickstarter pre-orders.

Thanks for your support and enthusiasm! Here's the link:

A sense of connection and being in sync with others is something that trauma strips away. And just one of the benefits that live music offers.

This is a quote by Bessel Vanderkolk, a top trauma researcher, from an interview he did on the Ezra Klein podcast by The NY Times.

I was struck by Dr. Vanderkolk’s description of how talk therapy isn’t enough to fully heal the wounds of trauma and how to truly heal, you need to rewire the body.

As a somatic therapist and mind-body practitioner, I know this already, but every time I hear it again I am reminded of the power of music, dance, moving together in community, and the exciting research on M**A and psychedelics that is proving to be effective in resolving trauma.

These are all elements found in the live music experience and why I believe it can be so beneficial for healing.

What if live music could be the next trauma intervention that could reach masses of people at one time for a relatively low cost?

If there is a solution that can effect thousands of people at one time, is fun, and people are already doing it, it deserves to be explored!

Is there potential here? I would say, hell yeah! Is there an opportunity to reduce harm and create a safer container? Absolutely!

These are all conversations I am committed to having.

I dive into this in the first episode of the Season 2 of the Groove Therapy Podcast and even deeper in my latest blog post, https://embodiedgroove.com/blog/f/live-music-for-trauma.

This could be one of the most important conversations of our time. It’s time to dig in because there is a lot of trauma to heal and as we heal ourselves, we heal the world. 💗🌎

Tonight's episode of On the Road with Anthony Arya is a theme of back to school with classic tunes about school and rock n roll, edification and moral degradation, and everything in between. This is the beginning of the second week of classes here on The Farm so with everything back in session, take a break from some homework and tune into KZSU 90.1 FM.
