Breaking News on the Toy News Playground-- Playmates is adding Jet Jaguar and Burning Godzilla to its (presumably Spring?) 2021 toy lineup. This is super exciting because there hasn't been an affordable/commercially released Jet Jaguar figure created in the US since... maybe even ever. Hopefully Zone Fighter is next (I'm a big sucker for those Godzilla robots). Both of these figures are 6.5 inches tall and Toy Wizards will update with ordering information the moment we have it....

『スーパー戦闘　純烈ジャー』解禁！

2月1日にその存在が明らかになった「純烈ジャー」。
変身後のキャラクターデザインを担当させていただきました。

モチーフはもちろん、ＯＢの方々は“それ”を感じさせるデザインで、今回初変身となる後上翔太さんのモチーフはいろいろありまして“スター”になりました。
その時点では、まさかニチアサと丸かぶりするとは思わなんだ（肩のスピーかーもね）。

どんな活躍を見せるかは…秋までお待ちください！

Dotonbori street
Osaka

Dotonbori is Osaka’s most famous tourist destination and is a renowned place especially for its retro styled neon lights and extravagant signage but also for the enormous variety of restaurants and bars.
This is definitely one of the most colorful destinations in Osaka and an absolute must-visit location.

The name “Dotonbori” refers to both the Canal (Dotonbori Canal) and to the Street (Dotonbori Street).

The history of Dotonbori goes back to 1612 when Yasui Doton, a merchant, invested all of his capital in diverting and expandanding the Umezu River into a new waterway linking the local canal network with the Kizugawa River.
When the project was completed the new canal was named "Dotonbori" or “Doton" in memory of Yasui Doton.

Takato Castle Ruins Park (高遠城址公園, Takatōjōshi Kōen) is reputedly one of the three best locations to see cherry blossoms in Japan, along with Hirosaki Castle and Yoshinoyama.

There are about 1500 cherry trees across the park's compound, providing great cherry blossom views each spring.

A cherry blossom festival is held annually, usually late March to April.

Takatō Castle, built in the 16th century, became home to a cadet branch of the Naitō clan during Edo period. Today, only some foundations are left but the place is definitely worth a visit.

Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture

In the end of the Edo period some writing talk about a lantern in the form of the Nagoya castle that was taken around the streets during the festival.
The inhabitants used to parade with this huge lantern 17 meters high in the streets until sunrise.

The tourou (a type of lantern) is a traditional lighting. In the festival, two giant lanterns (around 17.6 m tall), nicknamed “castles in the sky that never sleep,” are carried around the town till dawn accompanied by drumming, flute-playing, and shouts of encouragement. These lanterns are assembled specifically for the festival and cannot be viewed at any other time.

After a lot of work, I’m finally ready to unveil this custom figure: Kamen Rider 1 - Sakurajima Version! Based on the costume that he wore upon the return to the series, the figure features sculpted and hand painted parts and a hand sewn outfit to capture that 1970s Tokusatsu goodness!
