Meet Sarah Stigers from Los Angeles, CA!

What is your Why?
My why is that I hope people understand that they don't have to manage their diabetes alone because that was the category I fell under when I was first diagnosed. I felt that I had to figure it out alone and was not very involved in the community. My why is to use my story and own experiences to help others understand what it is like to live with diabetes, and I hope to make systematic change through how
diabetes is viewed in health care.

What is your connection to diabetes and the American Diabetes Association?
I have type 1 diabetes, and it has been ten years since my diagnosis in high school. I work with Roman and other volunteers in the Step Out Planning Committee, as I greatly enjoy working on Step Out. I am also the team captain of my Step Out team. In addition, I am passionate about what the American Diabetes Association does, given its emphasis on advocacy.

Do you have a diabuddy? How do you stay Connected to the Diabetes Community?
I currently don't have a DiaBuddy, but I look forward to connecting one through the ADA community. I like to keep up via social media platforms and check the legislative advocacy new updates in better healthcare for individuals living with Diabetes in America. My news source is through the ADA website and newsletter.

What are your favorite ADA Programs?
Step Out is a great way to get family and friends involved. I gain the opportunity to open up to the stories and experiences of others and also to share what matters to me. It is also a great chance to fundraise for the ADA's cause of advancing treatment and getting closer to a cure, as it is expensive to have diabetes. The ADA helps people attain better treatment for those that are not able to, so this is why I love the ADA.

What do you want for all people living with diabetes?
My biggest wish is that people don't have to have a different life because they have Diabetes. I wish that people could have the treatment of their choice, not because they can't afford it, but because it is their choice. I hope that people with Diabetes can live healthy lives and is not dependent on their socio-economic status.

Tour de Cure 2020 - 43 miles from Encinitas to Imperial Beach was a wonderful ride along the coast. Great weather, nice ferry ride to Coronado
I have updated my fundraising page with my personal story. I talked a little bit about it during the Living Red Living room but it is hard for me to tell my story in such a short segment of time. I have done so much in such a short period of time this summer that it is really sort of overwhelming! Take a read if you like. Link is below. 🙂🙂
Thanks y’all for sharing this wonderful light to those in need of urgent help, this site is really great. I want to also share this amazing review to the world about this great African traditional herbalist called Dr. Odion , who helped cure my 18 months Herpes Virus (HPV) with his powerful herbal medicines, I suffered from Ge***al Herpes for 18 months, for this period I visited several hospitals and used several medications but there wasn’t any solution until I came across the website of Dr odion ([email protected] ) while searching for help. I found out there was so many amazing reviews about him and how he have cured so many people around the world with his herbal medicine, I decided to give him a chance to help me cure my Herpes virus too and I contact his email : ([email protected] ) I explained what I was passing through, he gave me hope and assured me that I will be cured and saved from my ge***al herpes with his medicines. I followed his instruction and he sent me a powerful Herbal Medicine through the Courier Service and took for 2 weeks and my herpes disappeared and completely healed. Am so happy for the great experience and in case you have the same disease, I will advise you to go straight to this great man on [email protected] or WhatsApp him today : +234 9019421176
