Hating Gabi (Midnight) by Antonio Molina - Moises Caluya, Jr., violin / Ric Ickard, guitar

After many years, now, I have finally made a video of a beautiful violin rendition of Hating Gabi (Midnight) by Moises Caluya, Jr. We recorded this in my home-made recording studio set up in Riverside, California in the 90’s.
Moises and I were both scholars by the Music Promotion Foundation of the Philippines way back. Personally, I admire his tone and musical phrasing. Have a listen. Enjoy!

A picture I took of Jovencio “B**g” Rosario during one of his visits to my recording studio in LA. I’m glad he’s now active in FB that we are connected again.
B**g, for me is a very fine guitarist.
We were guitar buddies at the PWU Conservatory.
We formed the first PWU Guitar Quartet under Prof. Billy Guerrero.

The joy of playing 2 in a duo, lol! I guess I can call this one of the very early stages of “Ric Ickard and Friends”. I had the privilege of playing with my childhood mentor, Albert Alalong. The place: Prince Albert Rotisserie of Manila Intercontinental Hotel.
