It is with much regret that the Fair Association Board and Staff has made the decision to cancel the 2021 Fair.

With the fairgrounds being utilized as the base camp for the Caldor Fire, and their departure date still unknown, we felt that hosting a fair during this time of crisis was not in the best interest of the community, many are all still dealing with the trauma and devastation of this fire. In fairness to our Sponsors, Vendors and Stakeholders, canceling it now as opposed to later this month was the only decision for all.

We are forever grateful for the support that we have received from our community, and proud to be able to host the Base Fire Camp for all of the brave men and women fighting this destructive fire.
We will continue to be a viable place for our community, and hope that we continue to have it’s support and understanding.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon – save the dates for Fair 2022 June 16-19.

Important information regarding the Dry Diggings Festival.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The destruction of the Caldor fire has made it very clear, that it would be impossible to hold the event in Placerville. Our thoughts are with the community affected by these devastating fires, and the brave firefighters putting their life on the line to battle these raging fires.

We however do have some positive festival news to report. Our team has worked very hard the last 48 hours to find a new venue that could accommodate an event of this magnitude in such a short amount of time. We are very excited to announce, Dry Diggings Festival will take place in Grass Valley at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. We are so grateful for the Grass Valley community for welcoming us to their home. This is a beautiful venue, and we are so incredibly thankful to be a guest.

❤️ We look forward to welcoming you all next weekend On August 27 & 28th for Dry Diggings Festival, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

The Fair Staff and Board are overwhelmed with gratitude for our community. We were completely blindsided by the number of people that came to the Annual Family Blast last night - more than DOUBLE our highest attended Blast ever! We are so grateful for the patience and grace we were shown - hiring staff for special events is virtually impossible right now. The volunteers in the bar and at the gates really outdid themselves.
Once again, El Dorado County showed it's love for the fairgrounds and for that we are so grateful.
Happy Independence Day El Dorado County!

The 2021 El Dorado County Fair Livestock Show and Auction was one for the books! A great event, great people and we are all so GRATEFUL for the support of this community.
A HUGE thank you to Austin Ferry for donating the "Heritage Hog" - it went for a record $130.00 a pound! And also to Alicia Rodriguez for donating her lamb, the "Heritage Lamb" went for a whopping $40.00 per pound!
We all saw so many happy faces - it was great to see everyone out, and again, a GIANT thank you to the community for your support!

Why does your Fair end so incredibly early? For people who work nights, it is brutal to have to get up WAY earlier than usual to go to a Fair. We wanted something to do this weekend, but there's no chance we are going to your Fair if it ends at 5:30pm. We just went to the Lodi Grape Festival last weekend. It closed at 11pm on Thursday and Sunday. Midnight on Friday and Saturday. 5:30 pm does not make sense.
Monster Truck Madness invades Placerville Speedway this Friday and Saturday!
Looking for workers at the Fair Sep 23-26 to work in the Corndog Food Trailer $13 hr from open to close if you need work call (linda)559-681-1558 or (tim) 559-790-6261 thank you so much.
Hi! Can you confirm the Family blast is still on today with fireworks?
How many total animals of each species will be in the auction this year?
Stopped by the open schooling show today. Here are some photos I took while there between about 9:30 -11:30. Scroll through.... I took a bunch. Enjoyed seeing the families supporting each other! Tag people you know!
Can you give an update on the dino event? Did they have any damage from last night's storm? We have tix for Saturday and want to make sure it's open.
Can anyone tell me who the produce vendors were at the fair grounds last night? (Friday) We bought some of the best figs and blackberries I have ever had in my life! I would love to purchase more. Not to mention the amazing corn dog, tacos and funnel cakes! Thanks!
I was wondering what happened with the photography exhibit I had some photos entered and was told the placings would be posted on that page but I'm not been able to find any posts about that kind of category
Hi my name is Ashlynn Bruce I am from Southside Topnotch 4-H club. This is my 2nd year raising and showing market sheep. Because of covid 19 we won’t have our normal fair or our normal auction, but I was hoping that you would help support me or a fellow 4-Her and the 4-H program by bidding, buying or bumping up one of the animals in our online auction. The lambs I will be selling this year is a wether named Jack and an Ewe named Jill. Jack and Jill’s favorite treats are apples and they both love their booties scratched. I have really enjoyed raising them this year and will be sad to see them go, but I have started my college fund and all my proceeds will benefit my journey to become a veterinarian with a main focus on rescuing animals. So please consider buying my sheep during this year’s auction. Thank you so much Sincerely, Ashlynn Bruce. To register for the online auction please follow the directions on www.susantaylorshowserviceshibid.com Sale begins Thursday July 9, 2020 at 12:00 noon. Sale ends Saturday July 11, 2020 at 12:00 noon. Sale lots will be posted July 6, 2020. Ear Tag 9558 & 9559
Here is some additional information in this story,
The Democrats care more about the freeloading bums than the working people who are strugling-and much more affected by this crisis than those that normally do nothing all day and exist withour money anyhow.
