Out doing some toy hunting this morning. These Star Wars displays are hitting Walmarts. They are featuring new action figures/collectibles/toys from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian! Got my handed on the carbonized Mando!! All of us there was patient and orderly. Really cool when that happens.

It's time for another edition of #DATSToyHunting on this Friday!

The new Build A Figure of Venompool is in the latest series Of Marvel Legends figures of the Venomized series. The Venom figure does not have a piece of the BAF and looks really nice! I added a picture of the back with the line up of figures. And a close up of what Venompool will look like built.

The Honda Civic Custom from Johnny Lightning really pops of the card. The Hooker Headers livery on the Firebird looked awesome on that orange paint. The AutoWorld '77 Chevy Bonanza C-10 truck has that classic two tone paint. The M2 Machines '68 Chevy Impala is a classic casting and in a very timeless color. The Hot Wheels '66 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is just plain sexy. Crack it immediately!!

The new Nano Hollywood Rides from Jada Toys have hit finally. The Classic TV Batmobile, Batcycle and Jokermobile are finally in my Batman Collection. The GI Joe's Rides are just too cool as well and check out the GI Joe 6 pack of figured I found as well. It's probably been out before. But this is my first time seeing it!

Whew! That was a lot of toys we spotted and some bought on our Toy Hunt.

Have a safe weekend everyone!! Don't forget to share what you found while out Toy Hunting!

The new #MilesMorales #Spiderman from the Street Art Series from #Funko . It is also part of the #NYCC2020Exclusives Con items.

OF COURSE - I had to take it out to check out all the artwork around, behind and under it. My nephew, Tony, would have loved this #FunkoPop ... it speaks to a style that we both love. I believe I will collect the series for him and me. I hope the next releases are different influences from across the country!

Here is another adventure of #DATSToyHunting ....

Spotted these 3 packs at Costco the other day. These are the 1:32nd scales from Jada Toys in the Movie Series diecast. The Fast n Furious has 2 sets. Transformers has one set. And The Marvel series has 1 set. But there may be 2 sets of the Marvel cars. Didn't dive into the pallet. I don't recall the retail price but it was extremely reasonable. Great idea for early Christmas shopping.

Hello all our DATS Fans. We couldn't get everything squared away for a Toy Show for October 17th. But stayed tuned for some "Tricks n Treats" information.

The floor layout will be different with a one direction entrance and exit. You can re-enter once you exit. But you will have to wait for others that have been waiting before you. We will have hand sanitizer stationed in the front and back of the building. We suggest sanitizing your hands often. There will be no food or drink for sale during the show. Everyone is required to wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth at all times during the show. Gloves are at your discretion. We will have trash receptacles for you used items and not on the ground inside or outside of the building.

Attention DATS Vendor Team - now that we have some issues ironed out, you will receive your vendor email update on Monday. So be looking for it in your email. We will be using the ones we have on file. If it has changed, just drop us a message and we will correct it.

We are going to do our best to make our Toy Show FUN and SAFE for everyone. More details coming soon. Just keep checking back right here!

Thanks for being part of our DATS Toy Show Family!

We had a fun day on a quick toy hunt this morning for another session of .... #DATSToyHunting !

Marvel Legends have released new figures and two-packs.

Spotted a "new-to-me" supersized Starscream Transformer from Tomy/Hasbro (USA release). It is very articulate as ever and only $44.99.

This Matchbox throwback series has been difficult to complete. But I finally hit the Chevy Blazer 4x4.

And the Coco figure set from Disney was sitting there waiting for me. I know it's been out a while. But the first time I've been able to put hands in it.

Hey there all DATS Fans! I was out doing my #DATSToyHunting journey. And I was very happy to come across a casting I love to collect.

It is not a Super or regular TH. But when I saw this color variation side by side in a stack of cars, I was extremely happy with my hunt.

There were some loose cars up on a shelf in a recent retail establishment 😎😁. Pulled some down because I spotted the dark chrome bases. I looked further at the two 67 Camaros (one of my top 5 favorite castings of all time) and did the "No Way" thing we all do when we find cool errors or variations.

The paint on type looks like it was sprayed twice. But I was curious about the base and grill variation.

I have a diecast Bro on here @flamechasere5 that has a real good picture of what looks like a chrome base and grill. But it could be the light. My question is ... Has anyone else ran across this base/grill variation. Is it a 50/50 mix?

Help a fellow diecast brother out. And thanks for looking! 😎👍🏼👊🏼

Hello all our Dusty Attic Toy Show Fans!

We are not going to be able to have our September 19th show, this Saturday, in Red Oak, TX.

BUT - be ready for our return on October 17th! Now keep in mind, there will be certain criteria and guidelines to follow according to the city, county and State guidelines for current situations. It will be nothing that we haven't experienced thus far in 2020. But we want to bring you a safe and fun show for you and the family.

We will be sending out our Vendor Team Email soon. We will have a very limited amount of tables due to social spacing/distancing.

In the meanwhile, may your Toy Hunting be safe and your collections grow. Remember to wear your mask and keep your hands sanitized and washed.

We ran across a stock image of these vintage Popeye the Sailor Man wind up toys. So many cool toys from the Popeye golden era!

So we decided to give some insight on the character of Popeye and some other notables from the comic strip and cartoon.
..........
Cartoonist E.C. Segar created Popeye the Sailor in 1919 after taking a correspondence course on drawing from a guy in Cleveland. Segar's hometown of Chester, Ill. was chock full of characters that Segar easily adapted to print.

Dora Paskel, the owner of a local general store, was unusually tall and thin, wearing her hair in a loose bun at the nape of her neck. She was the inspiration of Olive Oyl.

J. William Schuchert was the local theater owner and employed Segar at a young age. When E.C. wasn't lighting lamps for the movie house, he was out getting his boss a burger, who had a voracious appetite for them. With his rotund figure, Wimpy was born from this likeness.

And there was Frank "Rocky" Fiegel. He was a one-eyed, pipe-smoking brawler who never turned down a fight. He had the same jutting chin, built frame, and trademark pipe as his cartoon counterpart, Popeye. He was actually a bartender and not any kind of sailor, but he did love the kids around Chester. They used to love to play pranks on the old barfly. Fiegel would impress them with his feats of strength as well as his telltale corncob pipe – something young Segar would never forget. Frank Fiegel died in 1947 and was originally buried in an unmarked grave. Popeye fans rectified this in 1996.

Popeye's real-life inspiration is sometimes attributed to a photo of an old sailor who really does resemble Popeye the Sailor Man, but this is just internet folklore. The sailor in the photo is really a sailor, but he's a British sailor. His name is lost to history, but the Imperial War Museum lists him as "A Leading Stoker nicknamed 'Popeye,'" with 21 years in service and fighting aboard the HMS Rodney in 1940. Fiegel would have been at least 70 years old when this photo of the battleship sailor was taken. Notice the IWM watermark in bottom right corner of picture

"Popeye" was an homage to an unforgettable man who lived to know his image was soon in 500 newspapers nationwide. E.C. Segar created Popeye the Sailor Man as the symbol of sticking up for the little guy.

Information was used from the writing of Blake Stilwell on August 08, 2019.

Hello all my Dusty Attic Toy Show Family!!

We are hoping to get back on putting on our show every third Saturday of the month by October. It's looking real good!! And we are excited!

So in the meantime.....

Music and Toys go together in our book. Let's take a flashback to the early days! This is inspired by a Young American who surprised me by knowing all of these forms of listening to music! 😅😅 It was very enlightening. Come to find out that his parents are audiophile's and was brought up on music. He even talked about a reel to reel!! 😱😱😱 Totally blew me away.

Drop your comments below on which one was your first way of listening to music. Or drop an image not listed .... we respect all methods of listening to music.

Mine was definitely vinyl from my sister's collection - That Motown sound!!

We will not be having our August 15th Toy Show. Good news is that cases are dropping and the curve is flattening. We are hoping that we can return to our September Show but we are not counting on it.

Please stay tuned it right here to our official page for more information. Hang in there, our Toy Show Family. We want to return to bringing y'all the fun of our Dusty Attic Toy Show. Just know ahead of time ... we will be following the guidelines as dictated by the City of Red Oak, Ellis County and the state of Texas.

We are going to have to get used to the new normal with social distancing, face coverings and sanitizing hands. With that note, certain things will not be available at future shows. AND - we will have a limited number of tables available in our indoor venue with the proper spacing.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Diecast Diecast Diecast!!

The Matchbox throwback set is out. I have included a picture of the Mercedes-Benz S123 Station Wagon! The retro card and selection of Matchbox classic casting is a really nice set. I have included a picture of the back and the UPC.

Next up, the mid-size Jada Toys of the Batmobiles have arrived - FINALLY!! In the last pic, I set a regular 64th scale Matchbox on the top of one to show size different. All my BatFan Diecast Collectors .... be on the lookout!

As always, 1) mask up when you're out huntin' - 2) sanitize often & wash your hands as you can after handling toys - 3) talk with your local collectors but at a social distance!

Welcome to the weekend my Toy Show Family!

We are highlighting a really cool action figure from McFarlane Toys and his latest addition into the Mortal Kombat line of figures.

This came out in March to some exclusive platforms first. I spotted this one at Target with their higher end toy area. This is in various areas in some Target stores. This section is by the Funko display. It comes with a $24.99 -$29.99 retail price tag. But looking at the detail of this figure and you're a Spawn Fan - this one is a "must have" for your collection.

Hey Toy Show Fanatics!

Hope everyone is enjoying this cool front and the rain in parts of the DFW area!! Check out this old stock photo from one the toy groups I'm in!

Can you make out who the stars are in this picture? And what movie was the one being shot for them to be all together in?

Good luck!

So the SDCC virtual con was this past week. It will be s really #MaillCall this week.

IMO, one of the coolest castings in the #Funko Pop world was Nightcrawler! This casting looks like a direct resemblance to Al Cummings Nightcrawler in X2: X-Men United movie.

The face tattoos, the color, the Jacket, the hands, and, the cloud from teleportation is CLEAN all the way around. One of my faves from this SDCC drop. He was a #HotTopic exclusive.

Hope your Saturday is going great DATS Family!

The Child from Netflix Series Star Wars - The Mandalorian has arrived in a miniature collectible. It is not sure where The Child is from. All we know is that he has taken to Din Djarin, Mando, and so has Din of the Child. The power that the youngling possesses is very draining. It will be interesting as his origin unfolds further in Season 2 of The Mandalorian on Disney+.

Now .... There are 6 poses available. The detail is so incredible. And the eyes make these collectible toys. Spotted at Target and retailing at $8.99 each. In my opinion, it may be a high price tag on these. But the figure is spot on in expression and the eyes.

Welcome into the weekend our Dusty Attic Toy Show Family. Hope your weekend goes great. Stay healthy and wash those hands often.

Some of the new Star Wars character cars coming in the next wave that I'm interested in. I believe this is the last wave of the year.

First up - a new casting - the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian™ inspired by the character Paz Vizla™ from the hit series The Mandalorian™.

Second up also from The Mandalorian™ - the car of the same name, The Mandalorian, known as Din Djarin™ in the hit series.

I will be looking for two of each. One to open and one to put away.

Took the "New for 2020" HW Big Air Bel Air for a spin and ran into a BEAST of a doctor. This BABA Chevy would be an appropriate ride for The Dark Beast himself, Dr. Hank McCoy. He is wielding the SUGAR hammer from the Sugar Man BAF. I love posing Marvel Legends figures up and snapping some shots.

The Dark Beast comes from the X-Men Age of Apocalypse series.

The Big-Air Bel-Air comes from the Rod Squad series - 1 of 10 - and No. 179 of 250 on US long card.

More pictures of the Big-Air Bel-Air are coming up in next post.
