Hey Everyone,

Welcome back! Hope everyone had a wonderful break. Just to let everyone know, the Cultural Events Committee time is still the same. Tuesdays 1-2pm. In the CAB office.

The committee will be chaired by both Pedro and Linh this quarter and will do a wonderful job as they have always done.

If anyone is interested in planning for one the schools biggest events 'Unity Fair', Unity Fair Committee meets at 2pm in the CAB office for today. (Every Monday 2pm)

Meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) 12-1pm

Tomorrow will be our LAST MEETING for this Quarter. The last meeting is decided due to time constraints and finals. We can have a last minute potluck and touch on a few things if everyone is in agreement.

Bring whatever you'd like.

We will also be doing a signing of Student Development Transcripts (SDT's) for the quarter, so please be ready and have them filled out already for quick signing.

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

4th Annual Seattle Hip-Hop Leadership Conference, Sat. Feb. 23rd at Seattle Central Community College will bring together leading figures in Seattle's Hip Hop and digital media communities.

This years event themed "Back 2 The Future" will explore the historical, present and future context, dynamics, impacts, and potential of hip-hop music and culture. The conference will address a range of topics from making a living in music to the international cross-cultural impact to the intersection of hip hop and digital technology.

The event is hosted by the Seattle Central Central Community College Cultural Events Committee in partnership with Seattle Hip Hop Summit Youth Council, Umoja PEACE Center and many community partners.

The Hip Hop Leadership Conference is this coming Saturday (Seattle Central Community College Feb 23, 2013 / 10am-5:30pm in Room BE 1110) you can come meet and discuss the future of local and international hip hop with industry professionals. Learn about hip hop and social media, business, politics, and what it is to be an artist in the industry. This applies to all genders, and races! Lets go!!!

In collaboration with the club G.E.M.S./Cultural Events Committee, we have brought you a well known activist/poet/professor. He was featured on many shows and events (TED talks, Def Poetry Jam, etc.)

He will be talking about gender roles and issues, and how we deal with each other. He will use poetry and other means in his presentation. Mark is a returning presenter, and is one of our most well attended events.

Hello Everyone,

Quick reminder, tomorrow is our weekly Tuesday meeting (1-2pm).

The meeting will be a bit different, I will be going over a small training session and answering any questions people may have available about the process of event planning and how to do it.

It seems like some of the members may be confused, and that is okay :] Please bring your questions and conversation!

I will be covering: forms, planning process, what the committee does, what CAB as a whole does, things you can do to help the planning process, and more.
