After 1 year cancellation in 2016 3 months before the race, without refunding register runners as well as the Mayor and controversial council member denied this race after 25 yrs for politics, I was still not impressed and sadly disappointed for this year in 2017 for these reasons: a. You FORCED US to WALK 4 BLOCKS from Seattle Center to START THE RUN with 1000+ crowded fans being rude without respect unusually. WHY?? This has never happened in 25+ years & it is suspicious! Not a single race in Seattle or USA Force us to walk 4 blocks to start race?! b. One of the registered older new runner cheated & started the run in downtown Seattle instead of Seattle Center as I saw her & watched her in dwntwn refusing to go to Seattle Center. c. One of my regular national runner colleague/friend almost got hit and injured by an intense driver as the police, security & volunteers were not there to protect us. It was a bit dangerous in that new crazy route near SL Union & construction. d. For the 1st time after 25+ years, there were not a single vendor to allow us for treats not even Michelob Ultra. Shocked, disappointed & sad! e. Due to only 1 volunteer, we, 13+ post-runners, had to stand & wait 21 minutes to receive & pickup our gear after the race, which is unusual and that person was casually slow without respect. She said she was the only one. f. For the 1st time, the 8k race, 4.971 miles course route, was not accurate at all, so we ended up running below 8k (4.971 mi), specifically 4.6 miles & you FORCED us to pay much more this year. Why? It sounds like you have inexperienced, non-runners/non-athletes that do not know how to setup the course. So disappointed from all of us from all over the US. I am confident you will review my accuracy and change/update the route to be a REAL RACE that is thorough and 100% accurate as it is mandatory & required for the serious race run. Thank you and maybe I will sign-ups. It all depends. Angelina Henry, monthly marathon runner/trainer/ ambassador & true athlete.
