Freedom Socialist Party - Seattle/Puget Sound Branch We're a socialist feminist political party engaged in grassroots activism. Get involved & learn more at: www.socialism.com/seattle Welcome! The Freedom Socialist Party (FSP) is a revolutionary, socialist feminist organization, dedicated to the replacement of capitalist rule by a genuine workers' democracy that will guarantee full economic, social, political and legal equality to all who are exploited and oppressed by the profit system and its offshoot—imperialism.

We are internationalists, unionists, antiwar activists, free speech advocates, environmentalists, gay freedom fighters and rebellious people of color and youth.

Mission: Here in Seattle our branch is actively involved in fighting budget cuts, furloughs and other attacks on public workers and the poor. We are also participating in campaigns for immigrant rights, healthcare, a progressive tax structure, reproductive freedom and queer equality -- and against Minutemen and other right-wing bigots. Seattle FSP sponsors ongoing study groups and regular public forums on local, national and international issues. To learn more about the party and upcoming events, check out our website and also subscribe to the bi-monthly Freedom Socialist newspaper.

It was a lively Our Work Continues: Protect Every Person rally and march led by BLM activists today! It felt really good to celebrate Trump being gone, but we also know we have to keep up the fight & pressure on Biden/Harris and all local Democrats too! More from New York City!

FSP member Elias speaks in front of Trump International Hotel to a celebratory and optimistic crowd expecting better from the Biden-Harris ticket.

“We have to do the work to transform the system that created Donald Trump.

Biden is going to be the perfect enemy of the right-wing and the right-wing is going to grow. The right wing is not going to magically disappear. We need to organize to fight the right-wing.”

The people’s power has protected one of our most basic rights: Our vote. By coming-out in massive numbers. We can’t allow the Democrats to end our momentum. We need to use our number power and continue to put pressure on the next president-elect.

Here in Seattle FSP will be at Occidental Park at 5pm and Westlake at 6pm defending democratic rights which include the right to protest and to be a radical, as well as the right to vote! Count every vote, make every vote count and abolish the electoral college.

Freedom Socialist Party is out in Bryant Park protecting the minimalist rights of democracy earned by us from the elite. We do not endorse the twin parties of capitalism but we demand that the ruling class and the democrats defend and count every individual vote. #protectthevote count every vote!

Democrats and the myth of the lesser evil - Freedom Socialist Party

Even if Biden does take the White House, the Democrats remain the twin evil of a system that defends the ruling class and white supremacy. Instead of celebrating their victory, workers and oppressed people need to come together to build an independent anti-capitalist party that challenges the status quo and finally breaks with the dueling parties of the one percent.

Dear friends, neighbors, and fellow activists,

Please take a moment to SIGN AND SHARE THIS PETITION demanding Mayor Durkan and Seattle Police release the public records around Herbert Hightower Jr.'s 2004 death at the hands of Seattle Police, while in the midst of a mental health crisis. https://tinyurl.com/justiceforherberthightowerjr

Seattle Police ruled the killing was justified with virtually no public accountability process, and family members have been seeking answers and justice. The recent tragic killing of Walter Wallace Jr. by Philadelphia Police under very similar circumstances shows the urgent need to continue organizing to build a multiracial mass movement to fight for real accountability, an elected community oversight board with full powers over police and to defund police departments by at least 50% to fund Black and Brown community needs, including mental health services.

Today I saw a drone like no other. I was walking in a forested area when a white drone, the size of a small plane, appeared in a clearing. It made a sound, as if the rushing of waters. Then, the sound stopped and so did the drone. It stopped: it was stationary in the sky! It remained stationary for some time. Then the 'rushing of waters' returned and it moved forward. The shape of it looked weird - I had never seen anything like it before. I contacted some friends and they knew of it, it was possibly an MQ1 drone, operated by the Army or Airforce. There's but one reason for its existence: the monitoring and tracking of the American people: it is there to incarcerate society. It is said to be capable of disrupting the neural network in the brain. Just such a disruption of the neural network occurred 3 years ago when I was knocked unconscious. And then again a year later. At that time I was not aware of the existence of such drones. Imagine the power of the criminals who have created this drone and are operating it, to end normal life. They have the power that the population cannot match. An incarceration of society is now underway. Below is a link to an essay that describes the ways that they're operating to enslave us.

The Freedom Socialist Party is co-hosting this exciting and fun event. Be there or be square.
I saw this today and wanted to let you know I filed a complaint with OPA and have also alerted the CPC. I have documented a pattern of biased policing at the last two Liberty or Death events, with video (mine and body cam video from SPD) and records. It would be great if others joined me in this important complaint. I've been dealing directly with the OPA Director, Andrew Myerberg, and am hopeful he will help lead a meaningful investigation with the video evidence and other records I've provided.
This is part of a massive global day of action planned to coincide with the start of the Global Climate Action Summit. Come and visit the Freedom Socialist Party who will have a table. https://www.facebook.com/events/2267530616596615/
Justice for Daniel Clary! This young man is being prosecuted for attempted homicide his conviction for shooting at and being shot by police officers in Pennsylvania, which was widely publicized. His sentencing hearing is tomorrow at 10:30am. Since the go fund me page was taken down you can donate to legal defense at https://bbnomics.com/campaigns/daniel-clary-defense-fund/ I sent the following letter to his defense attorney Janet Jackson at http://jacksonlawpractice.com/contact-us/ Dear attorney Jackson, I sincerely hope that tomorrow's sentencing goes lightly on your client. It's such a shame that resources are taken out of communities that could have prevented the traffic stop tragedy from occurring. It's also a shame that mental health service records are impossible or very hard to obtain with facility closures. I wish that this could really come to light and that any witnesses testifying as to the character of young Mr. Clary get credibility they deserve. After he was beaten up as a teenager randomly by three individuals his head/brain injury changed him forever. Without adequate knowledge, his distant stare as if you weren't there likely triggered suspicion of intoxication (marijuana) though he was subsequently cleared of DUII. His schizophrenia, which must be established and assessed for fairness to his case, goes further to show his genuine feeling that he needed to defend himself. (Police should also be trained to recognize mental health problems and respond more appropriately.) That he was trying to take a clip out of one of the bigger guns so that way the officer could not use it to shoot him furthers this argument even more. That the general climate is one in which innocent people of color are being murdered for no reason by police, some being prosecuted finally, reflects the truth of social reality today. Self-defense is a valid argument. Instead of repeating the cycle of throwing African American men into jail for decades or for life, this case is an opportunity to get Mr. Clary into a hospital for the treatment he needs. Taboos hurt the case because of police being shot, as was he. But sensitivity to any evidence and testimony let in and taken into consideration can offset that and push judgment towards a more holistic view that punishment is not an answer given the circumstances. I sincerely hope that you can bring the myriad multi-issue aspects of this case to light and bring the public's attention closer to the nuances than what sensationalized corporate media news stories gloss over, even after sentencing, whatever the outcome turns out to be soon. I can spread the word of justice for activist groups and this unfortunate 2017 tragedy can help better inform the public and bring more scrutiny to the broader forces of the injustices in the criminal justice system, from police violence, from racism and so much more collective action can oppose to demand a freer, equal world without oppression. Very Truly Yours, [signed] I think it's very important to send encouragement and hope as well as to show that sentencing does not end education and movement building for justice.
