Do you know a girl (5th to 8th grade) interested in sailing, building an underwater robot, or both?

Starting this Saturday, Sept 16, two Seattle non-profit boating organizations are partnering to offer a program in which girls learn and experience the physics of sailing, and then use their knowledge to design, build an underwater robot. A great way to promote girls' interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), as well as sailing!

The Center for Wooden Boats, and Frog Prints e are partnering for this program, to be held at CWB on Lake Union in Seattle, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, every Saturday from Sept 16 - Nov 4.

Registration is still open, at: http://www.frogprintse.org. Girls can be registered for just the sailing, or just the underwater robotic section, or both! Registration for the robotics section closes 10/10/17.

Inspiration from Washington Olympic sailor Helena Scutt!

Women and girls should pursue their dreams, no matter what others may say. Helena got that advice from her dad and his guidance gives her the confidence to combat negative stereotypes about women in engineering, her chosen field of study, and in sailing, a traditionally male sport.
