Chief Joseph Lodgepole Pine

The Gardeners at Seattle Center took some time away from from weeding and leaf blowing to safely transplant a Chief Joseph Lodgepole Pine in December. After securing the roots and root ball, the pine was placed on a tractor for the ride to its new home on the other side of the Space Needle. Gingerly it was placed and replanted next to another Pine already in the landscape. 🌲

To close out the year, #ArtAtTheCenter highlights artist and designer Jeffery Cook, who created the Winterfest decor which we normally install inside the Armory. These drawing outline the Armory Stage proscenium and our Winter Train & Village, as well as some other elements featuring pinecone and snowflake medallions, which are signature images in Cook's overall design. We look forward to bringing back this whimsical decor in 2021! #HolidaysAtTheCenter #SCWinterfest #decor #Armory

12/20/2020

One of the enduring elements of Seattle Center Winterfest, when we fill the Armory Food & Event Hall with holiday cheer and family-friendly activities, is Winterfest Student Showcases. Between Thanksgiving and New Year each year, this beloved tradition commands the Armory Mainstage, alongside professional Winterfest performances. Over 100 public school orchestral, choral and dance ensembles as well as private youth performance groups, travel from throughout Western Washington with instruments and music in tow to share their prepared seasonal repertoire. The trip provides a platform for these young artists to practice their performance skills and share their artistic accomplishments with family, friends and the public. They also get to try out Winterfest Ice Rink and take in Winter Train & Village (both sadly closed in 2020).

Seattle Center campus is still illuminated in thousands of twinkling holiday tree lights, however, COVID-19 has sadly canceled in-person Winterfest events. So in 2020, we invite you to participate in our Virtual Student Showcase platform, featuring video content from schools and youth arts training programs, available now through Dec 31. The performances will warm your heart and put some holiday spirit into your day. Check them and additional Winterfest activities out at ❄️https://fal.cn/3cl9k.

Polish Festival Seattle is delighted to offer a celebration of Polish Christmas traditions centered on Wigilia, Christmas Eve. Family members decorate the tree & set the table, where hay is placed on a white tablecloth, recalling Christ's humble birth in a stable. An extra place setting is added for those who cannot join or for the stranger who may stop by. When the 1st star appears, the meal can begin. A prayer is said and all share the opłatek, a thin wafer made of flour and water & exchange wishes.
Tradition calls for 12 meatless dishes to be served made from foods from the 4 corners of the earth: forest, sea, field, & orchard. From these limitations, a rich variety of recipes emerged over centuries. After the meal, all gather by the tree to exchange gifts & sing carols. Shortly before midnight, many go to Midnight Mass.
Brought to you in videos generously created by our Seattle-area Polish community members & friends. We hope you enjoy & that we will soon meet in person again.

Is sad there won't be Winterfest in 2020
God bless Dr EROSION for his marvelous work in my life, I was diagnosed of HERPES 6 years ago and I was taking my medications, I wasn't satisfied i needed to get the HERPES out of my system, I searched out some possible cure for HERPES i saw a comment about Dr EROSION, how he cured HERPES, DIABETES, HIV, HEART DISEASE, EX_LOVER BACK and CANCER with his herbal medicine, I contacted him and he guided me. I asked for solutions, he started the remedy for my health, he sent me the medicine I took the medicine as prescribed by him and 14 days later i was cured from HERPES, Dr EROSION truly you are great, do you need his help also? Why don’t you contact him through his EMAIL: [email protected] or WhatsApp: +2348116071831 https://www.facebook.com/drerosionherbalhome/
https://youtu.be/DVIX5jqozE0 Started before the election date, despite reading posts/messages from many, this has nothing to do with any band members’, fans’, their families’ and friends’, or (related) music business personnel’s political stance(s). It was a love for the songs, which I had no theme to. So I thought, as always, when in doubt, do a homeland video. This was a new experience for me because it was the tightest I’ve ever done. I’ve done homeland as countries and states, but never for a specific city. I even think I ran out of search engine pics that there may be a few outside the big city. But overall, I’m surprised I pulled it off. Because of two songs worth of pics needed, I had to carry out the album’s life into more years: 1984 - half the songs on the self-titled Capitol debut were written/copyrighted that previous year. 1985 - release of album 1986 - songs continued to be released as singles that year. Also the year of the second song. So all images were researched 1984 through ’86. Please note that search engines can be inaccurate and images can be mistagged with the wrong year. Images used were in the order of the search results. I don’t like to discriminate; I prefer this “mixed bag” approach. Music wise, I tapered the end of the first, and eliminated the beginning of the second in order to get straight into the melody, while still at a decent volume from the former track’s fading. I thought that continued the wide city feel and got into the “music faster.”
What going on a Seattle Center? I know we don't had the Bite of Seattle this year.
Is the International Fountain running during the day? Thank you in advance for the answer!
Message to you about your mother... see picture.
Last time I went to Seattle I remember going here and seeing all the cool place here, like the Space Needle. It’s so odd to see such a lively and wonderful place mostly shut down due to the recent pandemic. So, what I would like to do is offer some service I think would be of enjoyment to all of you. There is this website called Film Festival Flix in which it offers a wide range of movies on its vast collection and channels. For example, I recently watched this documentary about the rise of awareness of the decline of the bee population called “More than Honey” and really enjoyed it. Also, I watched a completely different type of movie called “Graceland” which was a great mystery-crime movie about the vulnerabilities of both women and children in the Philippines. You can watch both those films on the Kino Lobrer collection, and the ladder in the Drafthouse Films channel. If you are interested in anything else I would highly suggest checking out the rest of the website.
Create a virtual potluck with family members and neighbors!
Thanks🙂
