CLUE - CANCELLED
After careful consideration and upon consultation with published guidelines for opening performance venues, the
Area Community Theatre Board of Directors voted on Sunday to cancel our summer production tentatively scheduled for August 6 - 9. Auditions for CLUE scheduled for Monday - Wednesday have been canceled. The show itself will be rescheduled for the summer of 2021. We apologize to the directors and potential actors who so looked forward to participating in CLUE this August. With so much research garnering so few answers and knowing that venues hosting large public gatherings will be among the last to reopen, we just don't feel we can safely host audiences this soon.

Decisions about our fall and holiday productions will be made in the next couple of months. Those patrons with flex packages can be assured that their tickets will be valid in 2021. Those patrons with season ticket packages will have the opportunity to exchange their spring, summer, fall, and holiday tickets for flex tickets to be used for the future. productions.

AREA COMMUNITY THEATRE
AUDITIONS FOR CLUE
JUNE 1, 2, & 3 IN ACT'S CABARET ROOM

Director Anderson Becker and assistant Kate Buehner are looking for thirteen men and women to cast in the ACT's August product of CLUE. Auditions will be held June 1, 2, & 3rd at 6:00 pm in the Cabaret room. Due to social distancing guidelines, actors are asked to sit at least six feet from others while waiting to audition. Any further extensions of health safety orders may result in changes to these dates or cancellation of this summer production.

Based on the iconic 1985 paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, CLUE is a hilarious farce-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects.

Performance dates for CLUE will be August 6 - 9. All evening performances will begin at 7:00 pm while the Sunday matinee will start at 1;00 pm These dates may change due to health and safety concerns.

Hello my name is Dr. Jeffrey Garbelman I am the crisis intervention coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. We have a need for actors at New Lisbon Correctional institution in New Lisbon, on December 10th from 11:30AM until 3:00PM. You will be asked to play the role of an inmate struggling with mental health issues. The state will compensate you $100 for your assistance through a grant from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the state. If you’re not familiar with this program it is done in collaboration with the national alliance on mental illness and aims to assist and train correctional officers and staff to better understand and engage inmates during mental health crisis. It is a two day, 16 hour training, which culminates on the second day with these role-plays which allow participants can practice verbal communication and de-escalation skills. If you are interested, or know of any students who might be please let them know as soon as possible and contact me as soon as possible. It is a great cause, a good deal of fun. And a way to pick up a little bit of extra money. Dr. Jeffrey Garbelman 9202851139 [email protected]

I would like to thank Barb Sullivan for providing a tour of the A.C.T. facility to a group of past supporters. Your new building is HUGE!! We had fun reminiscing about the Fort McCoy theater's tiny box office and how you could not flush the toilet during a performance! I was impressed by all the storage room you have now compared to the small building/room we used to have. Furniture for sets could not be stored- they came from our homes. Luckily, they weren't missed because we spent all our time at rehearsals!! Thanks again for the walk down memory lane!
