The Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS) and the Loudoun Benefit Horse Show (LBHS) regret to announce the cancellation of both competitions, originally scheduled for June 1-7, 2020 and June 10-14, 2020 respectively. In response to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, the UCHS Board of Directors and the LBHS Board of Directors made this decision unanimously after evaluating many options, including postponement, in order to run both events in-tandem. The decision was made in the best interest of UCHS' and LBHS' event standards, staff, exhibitors and community-at-large.

Joe Fargis, President of the UCHS, commented, "Although saddened that we will not hold this year's horse show, we feel the most responsible decision was made for our event at this time. Despite the disappointment, our priority is to keep our staff and exhibitors safe. After reviewing information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, USEF and other regulatory organizations, we felt the best decision was made. Our community is resilient and supportive, and we look forward to producing an incredible event in 2021."

Shelby Bonnie, President of the LBHS, added, "Unfortunately, the Board of Loudoun Benefit Horse Show (LBHS) shares the same health concerns and made the decision to cancel our event as well. It is unfortunate that these two great Virginia horse shows will not be held this year. We look forward to putting on great events in 2021."

Any pre-payments sent to the office for stalls or entries for this year's events will be voided. The Upperville Colt & Horse Show will return to the Salem and Grafton showgrounds June 7-13 in 2021, with the Loudoun Benefit Horse Show taking place June 16-21, 2021.

An update for our UCHS community - the UCHS is in the process of determining whether a fall horse show is feasible, given the current uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19, USEF requirements/guidelines, State and local jurisdiction protocol, and above all, the safety and health of all of our participants and community. To date, no plans are solidified. Stay updated via UCHS social media channels and website as we make definitive decisions about UCHS & LBHS in 2020. We hope to see everyone in or alongside the rings soon!✨

Upperville show 2019
Can we please have a shout out (and photo!) of those wonderful women competing in the side saddle classes? I know it's just a small part of a very big show, but it's truly a special event to those of us happy that there are those who keep the skill alive and well.
It’s not too late to get in some fun at Upperville! The most adorable part of the [email protected] Leadline, cute kids on sweet pony’s Leadline will not start before 130pm today.
Beautiful show, but second day in a row no programmes or merchandise available. Tent moved or closed.
Upperville in 1964
Serenity Labs enjoyed a visit to the show today with Bell. Puppies and ponies what a combination.
Is there available seating for the weekly pass admission.
My advice---DON'T GO! This morning I drove out to the Upperville Horse Show as I have done every year for the past number of years. I love taking photos of the equestrian events and the animals. However when I arrived I was told that the admission fee for the event this year was $45 for a parking pass...good for all 4 days! Come on folks, I usually go for a couple of hours, at the most a half a day. In the past, I gladly paid the $10 per day fee..was well worth it...but $45? Needless to say I turned around and went back home. Who in blazes goes for the entire 4 days--yes, those who are in the various events and die hard equestrian folks. But the general public? I don't think so. Why the huge escalation in price? And where is a fee for just a one day admission? After talking to folks familiar with the event I was told that the new President, Barbara Roux, has swept a number of new changes into the show...including the new admission fee. Come on Barbara..be realistic. There is no way the average general public joe blow is going to fork out that kind of money to attend the show for a few hours or a even day. I heard on WTOP the other day an ad about the show...obviously you want the general public to attend... but with that fee, good luck! Maybe a better alternative might be the $45 fee for the entire run of the show, and a $10, even $15 fee for a daily admission. Obviously not a lot of thought, or research went into the new policy. Hopefully the Board will overide Barbara and bring in a more sane admission price policy next year. If not, I guess I won't attending the show ever again.
Have a wonderful show!
