It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that Carnevale Fantastico! will be postponed for 2018. We at Avalon Themed Events are grateful for the generosity of the GVRD in supporting this event. Logistical issues are keeping the festival from happening this May. We will return as soon as we can work those out and find alternative sources for a festival this size. We would like to extend our gratitude to all who have supported the event along with the dedicated volunteers, vendors, performers and staff who make it happen. WE WILL BE BACK so please keep our page on your FB list and we will announce our future plans when they are known. Grazie Mille

On our official Twitter account, @Carnevalefan we tweeted how smitten we were by the Italian ice skaters Marchei & Hotarek. Their costumes and their flawless long program look like a nod to Commedia dell'arte. We were tickled to receive a Thank You from the lovely Valentina Marchei, all the way from South Korea. The internet makes it a very small world.

Our hearts go out to those in #Texas that have been affected by #HurricaneHarvey & the catastrophic destruction it has caused.
