Global High Interact Club benefits local community through service

The Waxahachie Daily Light published a spotlight article on our organization. Our students exemplify service above self!

Interact is a service organization sponsored through Rotary and involved in communities all over the world. Its goal is to provide students and teachers with the opportunity to help and serve the people around them.

Remember, we are selling carnations this week during lunches for $2. Ask someone to winter formal with one, thank a teacher, tell a friend you are thinking of them for finals. All money goes to help our Nicaragua service trip.

We are accepting donations this week for Santa for a senior. We are adopting senior citizens and providing Christmas gifts of necessary items. Feel free to donate at Global!

At Waxahachie Global, we live the motto of "service above self".

We had an awesome day at Salvation Army where we assembled the red bag kits that you get when you select an angel off the Angel tree. We worked with Midlothian High School and Waxahachie High School and came in 3rd place for most kits assembled.
Our students worked hard and showed character and integrity while showcasing their problem solving skills and ability to think on their feet. They did a great job! #goodthingsaboutglobal

Each month the Waxahachie Rotary Club acknowledges an outstanding student from Global High School for superior citizenship and scholastic accomplishments The club is pleased to present Delaney Taylor as the winner of the November “Student of the Month” award.
Global High Principal Don Snook introduced Delaney to the club in this weeks meeting as an organizer. She was described as dependable and a student who can be counted on to make sure things get organized and stay that way.
Because of her organizational skills, Delaney has made a prefect secretary for the Global Interact Club. She was instrumental in organizing the Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat campaign at Global where more than 2,000 cans of food were collected on Halloween night for the needy. In addition to that, Delaney was involved in the Salvation Army program, Angel Tree Kit Making where her team won first place for making the most kits.
Delaney also serves as the logistics officer in Robotics and is actively involved in Engineering Now and the Fellowship of Christian Students.
Delaney is quite accomplished academically, also. She has maintained an A average in all her classes while attending Global. She plans on graduating from Global with her associate degree in science.
The Waxahachie Rotary Club is proud to acknowledge this outstanding student for her hard work and scholastic accomplishments. A permanent plaque will hang in the halls of Global High School honoring Delaney and other outstanding students for their accomplishments in both learning and serving others.
Delaney shows great promise for accomplishing amazing things in her life. She is an example of the youth in our community who will become productive, prosperous leaders of our nation in years to come.

Each month the Waxahachie Rotary Club acknowledges an outstanding student from Global High School for superior citizenship and scholastic accomplishments. The club is pleased to present Reagan Black as the winner of the October “Student of the Month” award.
Global High Principal Don Snook introduced Black to the club at this week’s meeting as a natural leader. Even with her heavy academic load, Black can be counted on to take on any challenge presented to her.
As an avid member of Global Interact, Black is serving as this year’s club vice president. She has been at every Interact function and was instrumental in organizing the Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat project for the club. She also won the first place award for making the most kits at the Salvation Army based Angel Tree Kit program for children in need.
Black joined Interact because she enjoys being a leader through the club and making a positive impact on the community. Her organizational skills and serious attitude toward “Service Above Self” is evident in all that she does.
Black plans to attend an out of state, four-year university to pursue a master of science degree.
The Waxahachie Rotary Club is proud to acknowledge this outstanding student for her hard work and scholastic accomplishments. A permanent plaque will hang in the halls of Global High School honoring Black, next to other outstanding students recognized for their accomplishments in both learning and serving others.
Black is a remarkable example of the youth in our community who will become productive, prosperous leaders of our nation in years to come.
