Tennis with a Cause...
The members of our “Charity Classic” committee wanted to showcase the best regional and national mixed-doubles tennis players while contributing the proceeds to support the York Opioid Collaborative.
Dr. Matthew Howie is the Executive Director of the Collaborative and notes “Just as the opioid epidemic in our country is expanding and changing, the York Opioid Collaborative has to grow in response to the increasing challenge of substance use disorder and overdose in our region. Whether it is educating our community about opioids, working to expand access to treatment, or strengthening the efforts of the recovery community to provide support on the path to long-term sobriety, the Collaborative works with many diverse partners to promote a community level response to a national public health emergency. The generous support of the Country Club of York and its Charity Classic allows us to develop and grow programs to meet the growing challenge of opioid abuse in our community".
This fundraiser has received tremendous support from our local business community as well as the members of CCY…we expect this event to be a tremendous success in 2018!
